Crowns, implants & restorative dentistry

When teeth need more than a simple filling, the principle stays the same: do it properly, plan it carefully, and make it last. From single crowns and veneers through to implants, bridges and dentures — the depth of experience complex work demands.

Restorative dental planning
Direct vs indirect restorations

The right approach for the tooth

It depends on how much tooth structure remains, where the tooth sits, and the forces it must withstand. Dr Lego explains the trade-offs so you can make an informed decision.

Cosmetic dentistry & veneers

Porcelain veneers — thin shells bonded to the front of teeth — for a durable change in colour, shape or spacing. Cosmetic bonding offers a more conservative, affordable resin option for minor improvements. Always the least tooth preparation possible.

Root canal treatment

When decay, trauma or cracking reaches the nerve, root canal treatment is often the best way to save a tooth. Dr Lego gives an honest assessment upfront about whether root canal or extraction gives the better long-term result.

Dental trauma & knocked-out teeth

If a tooth is knocked out: replant immediately if clean; rinse in milk if dirty then replant; store in milk if you can't replant it — then call Dr Lego on 0437 784 859. Custom mouthguards are strongly recommended for contact sports.

Dentures

Complete dentures replace a full arch (acrylic, chrome-cobalt or titanium; tissue- or implant-supported). Partial dentures replace one or more teeth. Immediate dentures are placed the same day as extraction for a smooth transition.

Frequently asked questions

How long do dental implants last?+
With proper care and regular check-ups, dental implants can last many years. Dr Lego will assess your suitability and discuss realistic expectations during your consultation.
Are crowns and veneers covered by health insurance?+
Most private health funds provide a partial rebate under extras cover. HICAPS is available for on-the-spot claims.
How many appointments do crowns and bridges take?+
Typically two — the first to prepare the tooth and take impressions, the second (usually two weeks later) to fit the final restoration.
What should I do if I crack or break a tooth?+
Contact us as soon as possible. Avoid chewing on the affected side and keep the area clean until your appointment.
Is root canal treatment painful?+
Modern anaesthetics make it comfortable. Most patients report it's no more uncomfortable than having a filling placed.
